As part of my The Power of Gratitude challenge this month, I sat down to draw what I am most grateful for today — hands.
Weeds have taken over the garden after I harvested most of my summer vegetables. I wanted to start the fall plantings but it looked like I need to spend more time weeding. And weed, I did.
My hands grew tired after awhile but as I looked at how better my garden looked, I appreciated my two hardwoking hands for such an effort.
The hands are a wonderful tool. I am grateful for mine.
I “doodled” the picture above while waiting for my little ones to wake up from their afternoon nap. Doodling was my favorite thing to do in high school when class got a bit boring and I was about to fall asleep. My notebooks and my books usually had ‘doodling art’ on them. If felt really nice to be able to do this again after so many years. All of a sudden, my son woke up, as though sensing that mommy is spending some quiet time instead of chores. He sat on my lap while I drew this and surprisingly he did not try to grab the pencil from my hand. He just watched me the whole time which was really nice.
The Bible verse I have included in this drawing is something that I wish for as a woman, a wife, and a mother. I am learning every day and still have a long way to go. I strive to be a better version of myself and it is only possible with God. I praise the Lord for giving me a pair of hands and for the duties and responsibilities given to me.
What are you most grateful for today?
