Oatmeal Champorado


  • 1 c oatmeal
  • 1 pc tablea
  • 4 c water
  • 1 tsp. raw brown sugar
  • a pinch of salt
  • 1/2 c coconut milk (optional)


  1. Boil water in a small pot. Add the oats and stir until it\'s cooked, soft and fluffy.
  2. Add the tablea and the sugar (if using) and salt. Stir until the tablea melts and dissolves.
  3. Transfer to a bowl and drizzle with milk.
  4. Serve with a side of ripe mango, or any of your favorite fruit. In the Philippines, some people eat it with dried fish.
